The distance graphic

The degree at the top indicates the beam angle of the light source. This starts from the point in the centre directly below the lamp (100% brightness) and ends towards the edge when 50% brightness is reached.

The distances and radius of the light cone are shown on the left of the image. The information on the right of the graphic (temperature in degrees Celsius, brightness in lux and UV radiation in µW/cm2) refers to the respective distances on the left of the image.
You can use the radius to estimate whether your animal will fit under the light cone.

The green zone indicates the ideal distance from the light source. What is ideal at this point can vary slightly depending on the animal species. Brightness, temperature and UV radiation decrease with increasing distance.
